Our charitable donations

P2P-Xchange.com was founded by Sue Datta of Almaden Valley in 2004, mainly to help the community reach out to each other for support and help. Since it's launch in November 2004, Sue Datta has been involved in many charity and community projects, besides being the founder and president of P2P-xchange.com. See list below

  • Almaden Valley Networking Group (AVNG)

Sue Datta founded this group along with Farah Bani-Taba of Castle View Realty and Suzy Baboghli of Home Loans of America. This is Almaden's premier exclusive business networking group, that leverages social networking within a community to generate business for members and at the same time serving the community by reaching out to help the poorer members of a community and help them be a productive part of the community.

  • Promise World-Wide

Sue is on the board of an international charity organization Promise World Wide.
Promise started with just 5 girls in a very poor village in Kolkata, India and raised money to provide for their education, sanitation and food. We were very lucky to know a very trustworthy young man in India - Joy Burman, who has risked his life many times to convince the male-dominated society in India that girls needs education too.
Within three years, Promise has grown to extend our love and protection to 60 children (some boys too, who are siblings of the girls in the village) and we are a 501(C) 3 corporation.

  • SJMN Wish Book donation

In November 2004, the San Jose Mercury News Wish Book section wrote about a very tragic story -- The Mendez Family of four young children who had lost their mother in a hit-and-run accident.
The family wished to spend Christmas in Disney world as the house was so empty without their mother. Email was sent out to P2P Parents and other community residents and the response was overwhelming. Numerous parents and children responded with pledges. P2p-Xchange matched $5.00 for every family that donated and together we raised over $450.00.
On Dec 25th 2004, San Jose Mercury News printed the names of all people who had donated to all their wishbook funds and P2P-xchange.com and the chidlren who donated with us were mentioned. Click here to read about the article .
